COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course aim at providing the basic framework for understanding the whole process of entrepreneurship and developing theoretical and practical capabilities in creation, development and operation of entrepreneurial  ventures.


COURSE OBJECTIVES
·          To enhance the students towards the understanding of entrepreneurship and enterprise development;
·          To equip students with necessary skills of creating and sustaining business ventures;
·          To make students appreciate the need for change of mindset on ways of doing things and be more entrepreneurial;
·          To give students awareness and appreciate the roles and actors in Entrepreneurship Development;
·          To give students awareness of constraints facing Entrepreneurship Development in Tanzania.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, students will be:
·          Able to give the meaning of entrepreneurship and an entrepreneur,
·          Able to identify and describe the characteristics of an entrepreneur,
·          Equipped with skills to conceive, start and develop a new business,
·          Able to develop and appreciate theories that have been proposed to explain entry and success in business,
·          Imparted  with the necessary skills in establishing, managing and facilitating growing business ventures,
·          Equipped with skills on how to prepare and present a business plan.

13. ASSIGNMENT
·          Font to be used is Times New Roman size 12
·          The assignment for the course is due on Tuesday 26th April 2011; late submission shall be penalized at 10% per day. Assignment overdue for over 3 days or more shall not be accepted and student will earn a 0% mark.
·          Number of pages for the assignment is 6 to 10, 1.5 spaced A4 pages.
