1. COURSE
DESCRIPTION
The course aim at providing the basic framework
for understanding the whole process of entrepreneurship and developing
theoretical and practical capabilities in creation, development and operation
of entrepreneurial ventures.
2. COURSE OBJECTIVES
a)
To
develop enterprising tendencies among the learners,
b)
To
develop an awareness of business opportunities which can potentially be seized
by an university graduate,
c)
To
stimulate interest and provide experience on how to access business
opportunities,
d) To equip
students with necessary skills of creating and sustaining business ventures,
e) To give
students awareness of constraints facing Entrepreneurship Development in
Tanzania and analysing ways of improvements,
f)
To make students appreciate
the need for change of mindset on ways of doing things and be more
entrepreneurial.

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

Competencies related to the entrepreneurial behavior e.g initiative taking,
being proactive, innovative, confident and calculated risk taking,

ABOUT SAUTEC
St. Augustine University of Tanzania
Entrepreneurship Development Centre (SAUTEC) is focused to be an executer and
coordinator of entrepreneurship development endeavors, for the university
community and for the external market. As a cross-cutting unit, this centre
will run entrepreneurship courses for all students to all academic programmes
at SAUT, conducting Training of Trainers (TOT) Entrepreneurship Education
related courses for SAUT academic staff, supporting and exposing students
interested in the entrepreneurship career and providing various trainings to
SMEs to the community.
